After taking a brief pause, the esteemed Black Girls Rock! Awards is gearing up for a monumental television comeback on Lifetime, ending a five-year break. This resurgence isn’t just a return; it’s the dawn of a sustained legacy that highlights the excellence and strides of Black women, while also fostering a culture of festivity and empowerment.

Originally debuting in 2006 at the Lincoln Center in NYC, the shows success led to it being picked up by BET from 2010 through 2019, the awards ceremony has seen many distinguished Black women across various fields take the stage as honorees. Stars such as Angela Bassett, Regina King, and musical icons like Ciara and H.E.R. have previously been celebrated for their contributions.

This year, the ceremony promises to be a cultural spectacle, filmed live from Atlanta on June 27, and is slated for a fall broadcast. Atlanta, known for its vibrant civil rights history and rich cultural tapestry, will now play host to this illustrious event.
