Hailing from Watts, California, Ajaxx is a multifaceted artist and engineer whose journey through the music industry feels like a natural progression, rooted deeply in his upbringing and musical influences. With a father who wrote for legendary artists, Ajaxx was immersed in music from an early age, and it was clear that he was destined to create his own sound. His path into music began with a deep passion for engineering, where he spent countless hours mixing and recording in his home studio, perfecting his craft. His journey evolved when a close friend encouraged him to take his talents seriously, leading Ajaxx to enroll at the prestigious Los Angeles Recording School in 2012, where he earned a degree in Recording Arts.
After graduation, Ajaxx dove headfirst into the industry, landing internships at powerhouses like Midi Mafia (known for their work on 50 Cent’s 21 Questions) and Atlantic Records. His time working at Rostrum Records, Roc Nation, and other influential labels allowed him to perfect his craft behind the scenes, but all along, his heart was set on becoming an artist himself.
Ajaxx’s sound is deeply inspired by the West Coast vibe, with a particular influence from Dom Kennedy, a staple in the region’s scene. His latest release, Eastside Love Story, encapsulates this effortlessly cool style, a seven-track project that tells a vivid, relatable story from start to finish. Featuring collaborations with Nick Freeze, Jamiah Lindsey, Kinfolk Kenny, Kurfew, and Mashera Monae, Eastside Love Story blends smooth melodies with laid-back, yet meaningful lyrics, creating a soundscape perfect for cruising through life on a warm California day.
With each track, Ajaxx invites listeners into his world, offering them a slice of West Coast life that feels personal yet universal. It’s not just about the beats or the rhymes; it’s about the moments, the stories, the journeys, and the vibes that make up the fabric of life on the Eastside. This project is more than just music; it’s a love letter to the culture, the city, and the people that have shaped him into the artist he is today.
Eastside Love Story isn’t about chasing trends or fitting into a mold, it’s a celebration of self, a commitment to authenticity, and a dedication to the sounds that make the West Coast so unique. It’s effortless, it’s vibey, and it’s Ajaxx’s story, told in his own voice, on his own terms.
