The underground rap world just got hotter. Acclaimed lyricist Homeboy Sandman and multi-Grammy Award-winning producer Jack Splash have released their second collaborative single, “World On Fire,” featuring 5x Grammy Award-winning artist CeeLo Green — and it’s available now at all DSPs.

The release builds serious momentum ahead of Resonance Frequency, the duo’s forthcoming collaborative album set to drop on July 31, 2026.

A Collaboration Built on Mutual Respect

Sandman didn’t hold back when expressing his admiration for CeeLo. “I’ve loved CeeLo since Goodie Mo B. I love ‘Liberation.’ I love ‘Perfect Imperfections.’ I love Gnarls. The dude is a genius,” he said. “CeeLo is poetry even when he’s gritty. His gorgeous hook on this was the inspiration for some particularly poetic writing on my part. The World Is On Fire! But, everything is still beautiful, though. It also doesn’t hurt that Jack completely put his foot into this production.”

That creative spark is evident from the first listen. CeeLo’s soaring hook anchors a production that feels both urgent and expansive — a sonic reflection of turbulent times met with unshakeable artistry.

Jack Splash is no ordinary producer. With eleven Grammy nominations across four different genres — including three for his work on Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city (Album of the Year, Best Rap Album, and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration) — and three Grammy wins to his name, Splash has shaped the creative forefront of hip-hop, funk, soul, pop, and rock. His production credits include work with Alicia Keys, Solange Knowles, John Legend, Christina Aguilera, Lupe Fiasco, and Cynthia Erivo, among many others.

On “World On Fire,” his multi-instrumentalist sensibility is front and center. The track doesn’t just support Sandman’s lyricism — it elevates it.

“As artists we’re always trying to elevate frequencies and find peace; even in chaotic times — especially in chaotic times, it’s often the poet and the drummer who offer people a little breath of fresh air,” Jack Splash said. “This song is a little piece of that, our upcoming album is a whole lot of it.”

Homeboy Sandman Enters New Sonic Territory

Known for his dense, poetic lyricism and his celebrated work with Aesop Rock as the duo Lice, Homeboy Sandman has long been one of the most respected voices in independent hip-hop. Resonance Frequency marks a genuine evolution — an avant-garde creative chapter defined by an unexpected sonic synergy with Splash that unlocks a side of Sandman listeners have never heard before.

The duo’s debut single, “TWENTYFOURSEVEN,” introduced the project with a bold statement. “World On Fire” confirms that Resonance Frequency is shaping up to be the most dynamic production of Homeboy Sandman’s career.
