Wyatt Russell Comments On The War On Drugs, His New Movie, + Dips His Hand In Sway’s Mystery Sack

Video by YSKSK Media

At first glance, wearing sweats and a beanie, you wouldn’t know that Wyatt Russell is apart of a pretty famous family.  His father is Kurt Russell, his mother is Goldie Hawn, and his sister is Kate Hudson, but Wyatt has made it very clear that he wanted to pave the way for himself without his family’s name and did so through hockey, until a hip injury had him reconsider a different path.

Acting wasnt something he wanted to do, and even considered teaching as an option, but his roles in movies like This Is 40 and 22 Jump Street had him appreciating the art of acting.  At first, he didn’t take his role in 22 Jump Street seriously, but when a war veteran told him how that movie helped him get through some hard times, Russell realized that with anything you do, you have to put your all into it, because you never know what it’ll mean to someone else.

In his new movie Everybody Wants Some which he describes as a “spiritual sequel” to Dazed and Confused, Wyatt plays a stoned college student, hanging out with his baseball team.  When Sway asks if he supports drugs, Wyatt says he doesn’t necessarily support them, but he does think the war on drugs are coming to an end.  He also dips his hand in Sway’s Mystery Sack, and answers a couple more questions.  Peep the full interview above and make sure you check out Everybody Wants Some in theaters now!
