You may recall that back in October of 2016; the word came down that Twitter would be officially shutting down the video sharing service known as Vine. Well, that day is fast approaching, and today comes with some interesting news. Today the news is that Vine will be officially discontinued on January 17th and will be replaced by the Vine camera app.
This new app provides a similar service allowing users to make 6.5-second looping videos which can then be saved or posted on Twitter. The app will not support social sharing to the Vine community, instead functioning as an offline creation app. Users have until January 17th to download their vines, or then they will become an archive of clips. Stay tuned for much more on Vine coming very soon!
