If you were one of the millions of people tuned into the Vice presidential debate or casually browsing social media, then chances are that you clearly saw the gigantic fly that made a comfortable home on Vice President Pence’s head during the debate. Now either he uses hair products infused with fertilizer or we received a clear cut sign from God himself stating which candidate is clearly not worth crap.
As the age-old saying goes “Flies are attracted to sh*t”, last night was a living testimony of the statement.
One a serious note, we are in a pivotal moment in history as the unresolved issues of systemic racism, bigotry, and hate have resurfaced and risen to the top of our society. We are living in a crucial moment of time, as reenactments of stories similar to that of Emmitt Till are still happening, right in front of our eyes, and America’s Chief of State won’t take action or speak out against it. Instead, he instructs his personal racist militia to “Stand By, and Stand Down.”
Pence nearly consented to the same message when asked to give his take on racial injustice. Although sending his sympathies to the family of Breonna Taylor, Pence states ‘I trust the justice system.”
Quite frankly, there is no way in hell that someone in their right mind could look to analyze the justice system of America and conclude that Breonna Taylor & George Floyd were justifiably killed. Senator Kamala Harris emphasizes this point by expressively articulating that she and Biden would reform policing in America, proving that there is a serious problem that needs to be handled.
Right now many of us feel frustrated, tired, and beat up by the cruel and merciless tactics of this world, but we must hold true to the glimmer of hope as the fly revealed a much-needed truth in a world full of lies. As the old saying goes “Flies are attracted to sh*t”, Lil Wayne says “Everybody wanna be fly til you swat em”. Go vote 11/3/2020!
