Black and Blue couldn’t be a more timely release as our country collectively is battling issues with hate, discrimination and racism with the police at the epicenter of it all. The Deon Taylor directed film takes on corruption with in a New Orleans Police department in an action-packed way from the start. Naomie Harris’ character starts out on day one of her training as a police officer seeing her fellow officers murder four black men. The movie takes off from their with Harris’ character seeking refuge with Tyrese’s character. Tyrese stopped by Sway In The Morning to talk about the importance of the film and what to expect.

I have had seven police officers jump on me because I was trying to protect my kids. I haven’t gotten over that. And they called me all kind of names.
