In a world where rumors spread faster than wildfire, Oprah Winfrey and Bishop T.D. Jakes have stepped forward to address and shut down baseless claims linking them to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ alleged sex-fueled parties, often referred to online as “freak-offs.” The two influential figures made their positions crystal clear during a live appearance at T.D. Jakes’ Good Soil Forum in Dallas on June 19, 2025.

Oprah Winfrey Denounces the Rumors

Oprah Winfrey, the media mogul and philanthropist, didn’t mince words when addressing the swirling allegations. Speaking to a crowd of over 2,000 attendees, she firmly denied any involvement in the scandal.

“I have never been near a puff party. And anybody who knows me knows if there is a party, I’m the first one out,” Winfrey stated, drawing laughter and applause from the audience.

The rumors, which have been circulating online, suggested that Winfrey and Jakes were among unnamed public figures who participated in Diddy’s alleged controversial gatherings. These claims emerged amidst Diddy’s ongoing legal battles, including multiple lawsuits and a federal racketeering trial tied to allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse.

T.D. Jakes Addresses His Connection to Diddy

Bishop T.D. Jakes also took the opportunity to clarify his limited interaction with Diddy, explaining that his only connection was a brief visit to wish the music mogul a happy birthday.

“I stopped by Puffy’s house for 30 minutes to say happy birthday to him during the day at 2 o’clock with staff people. And out of that came a love affair and all kinds of stuff,” Jakes explained, highlighting the absurdity of the rumors.

Jakes went on to criticize the public’s fascination with salacious gossip, noting how it often overshadows meaningful contributions and important issues.

“But people love salacious stories. And you can tell them stories about you feeding those girls in South Africa. They don’t want to hear about that at all. If you tell them about Puffy’s Biceps, they want to follow you all the way around the world,” he said, pointing out the skewed priorities of modern media consumption.

A Call for Focus on What Truly Matters

Both Winfrey and Jakes emphasized the need to redirect attention to issues that truly matter. Jakes, in particular, warned about the timing of such rumors, suggesting they often serve as distractions from more significant events.

“We are drunk off of things that don’t matter to distract us from the things that do matter. And if you watch the timing of it, the intoxicant always comes out while something big is happening that we need to be paying attention to,” Jakes said.

The Bigger Picture

The public statements from Oprah Winfrey and T.D. Jakes serve as a reminder of the dangers of misinformation and the importance of focusing on substance over scandal. As Diddy continues to face legal challenges, the media frenzy surrounding these allegations underscores the need for responsible reporting and critical thinking in the digital age.
