On Friday, Nipsey Hussle’s partner Lauren London revealed that the fence outside of the late Nipsey Hussle’s Marathon clothing store on Slauson Ave, Los Angeles was there in order to protect the area where a tower in his honor will be built. Reports of the fence started circulating that Thursday but it has been confirmed by Lauren herself that the fence is there because that area will be shut down until further notice so that construction can begin on a tower in tribute to the late rapper who died March 31, 2019.
On Instagram she states “As a notice to the public, we’re putting up a gate on Thursday, August 1st, 2019 to enclose the plaza at 3420 W. Slauson Ave to start the early development stages of the forthcoming Nipsey Hussle Tower to commemorate [sic] and honor the life and legacy of Nipsey,” London revealed. “The Marathon Store will remain closed, but you can shop online at TheMarathonClothing.com. Thank you.”
There have been several concerns, one concern being that if his tribute tower will be finished by his 34th birthday on August 15th, which is unconfirmed. There were also safety concerns, regarding tourists and passersby who visit the marathon clothing store, it was stated that there have been many incidents of tourists being robbed. In order to help resolve the issue street lights will be installed on the streets where the robberies have taken place.
