The Brooklyn native, Shawn “Jay Z” Carter is back in the news today. This time around things are different as today Jay Z becomes the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. Chose by his peers, Jay Z joins a rather illustrious list that includes the likes of Burt Bacharach, Duke Ellington, Ira Gershwin, John Lennon, Elton John, Lionel Richie and select others.

In honor of his induction, today TIDAL has put together something special that includes essays, top lyrical moments, video tributes, thoughts from fellow creatives and so much more for our viewing enjoyment. They give us a unique look at his vast catalog of work that began in 1996 with the classic project, Reasonable Doubt. Have a look at TIDAL’s celebration right here, right now and give some respect!
