The Hip Hop/Rap game-changing group formed in 1997 under the name of, “The Hot Boys” released “Guerilla Warfare”, their first commercially successful album that debuted #5 on the Billboard and sold over 142,000 copies within a week turns 20 years old today. It is the second album produced by the New Orleans hip hop group.
Within its first week, the album did extremely well and has been one of the only albums to hit top 5 on the billboard charts for Cash Money Records. It also hit #1 for the top R&B/Hip Hop albums. With the release of “Guerilla Warfare” in 1999, the rap group was ready to let the world know they were here to change the game forever.
The album produced by Mannie Fresh included top tracks including, “I Need a Hot Girl” and “We on Fire”. The album was certified Platinum by November of 1999, after its release and to date has sold over 1,500,000 copies.
