Terrence Howard and Taraji P Henson Star in Musical Drama "Empire", Premieres Tonight

When Fox announced they would be launching a music inspired television show centered around Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard as the main characters, nationwide curiosity took over. What direction would the show go in? Is it going to be a representation of the modern moguls such as Jay-Z, Diddy and others with a Hollywood flare? But, as time progressed we were able to get some insight into what Lee Daniels had planned for his unique creative vision.

Apparently, the lead character Lucious Lyon (played by Terrence Howard) is an extremely successful entertainment mogul who has his life shaken up by an unforeseen medical condition giving him a short amount of time left. With the family name and his empire on the line he must balance between family drama, past relationships (mainly Taraji P. Henson‘s character Cookie) and the industry to ensure continued success despite his current condition. This story line has the potential to keep us avid music fans engaged throughout the first season and with Timbaland at the helm as Executive Music Producer, the soundtrack should be on point.

Empire premieres tonight on Fox at 9/8C – be sure to let us know what you think about the first episode. Will you be tuning in all season?
