Takashi Murakami’s ‘Superflat’ Self-Portrait Is Now A Sculpture

The one and only, Takashi Murakami is known for his unique and rather eye-catching designs. Today he is back, this time in sculpted form as we get a look at Takashi Murakami’s ‘Superlfat’ Self-Portrait Sculpture. This brilliant and stunning design was recently revealed on Takashi’s instagram page and is the result of Japanese artist Tetsuya Tamanoi.

The design took the artist over a year to complete the dissected piece, which features a similar appeal to KAWS’ flayed creations. The design was inspired by Murakami’s iconic Superflat self-portrait, with striking attention to detail throughout. Have a look at the design in the image up top and check out the Instagram post below. Stay tuned for more art and design coming soon.
