Leading up to the 60th Grammy Award Ceremony award-winning musicians Robert Glasper, Chris “Daddy” Dave and Derrick Hodge led a jam session on Sway In The Morning with one of the most epic lineups to ever hit radio. Anthony Hamilton and The Hamiltones laid the foundation for the day by setting it off crooning a potential new intro for the Sway In The Morning Show.
First to the mic was Grammy-nominated Rapsody, who toyed with the mic and showed non-believers why Laila’s Wisdom is up for Album of The Year. She was quickly followed up by Chi-Town legend, Lupe Fiasco who continues to prove that he is one of the all-time great wordsmiths, as the effortlessly dropped bars off the of the dome. Mixing in a little old with the new, Oswin Benjamin stepped in amongst the heavy-weight flowers and held his own as he floated on Glasper sounds.
Rolling fresh out the bed right into his plush mink, Fred The Godson brought bars to the table as only he could. And carrying their father’s names, but creating a name of their own Vina Love (Kid Capri’s Daughter) and Chris Rivers (Big Pun’s Son) went off!
Witness history with this epic jam session, and this is only part 1.
The jam session continues with Empire’s own, Jussie Smollett snuck in the studio and jumped right in with Anthony Hamilton mashing the classic, “Coming From Where I’m From” and Smollett’s new record “Freedom”.
