Stream D'Angelo's New Album "Black Messiah"

The king of Neo-Soul is back after a 14-year hiatus since his last album ‘Voodoo.’  In a somewhat Beyonce-esque fashion, D’Angelo‘s “Black Messiah” hit iTunes early Monday morning after an announcement from a Red Bull Music Academy listening party in New York.

“It’s about people rising up in Ferguson and in Egypt and in Occupy Wall Street and in every place where a community has had enough and decided to make change happen,” said D’Angelo in a recent statement regarding the title of the album.

Recorded with his band The Vanguard with a little help from The Roots drummer and longtime friend Questlove, ‘Black Messiah’ contains 12 brand new tracks including “Sugah Daddy” which dropped earlier this weekend.  Sit back, relax and let the godson of R&B do what he does best and make sure to support the album by heading to iTunes to pick up your copy.

  1. I was excited for this album. But after buying it I wasn’t that thrilled. Maybe my expectations were too high.
