On a recent episode of the Sway In The Morning radio show, Angel Gregorio, owner of The Spice Suite, a specialty spice shop and dream incubator, shared her story of how she came to buy a $1M property in order to open a strip mall for black-owned businesses. Her inspiring story is one that celebrates black entrepreneurship and highlights the importance of supporting black-owned businesses.
Angel opened Spice Suite and was determined to do more than just own her own business. She wanted to create opportunities for other black entrepreneurs and use her success to give back. With this goal in mind, she set out on an ambitious mission to purchase a property worth $1 million dollars that would be used as a strip mall for black-owned businesses.
After months of hard work and dedication, Angel achieved her dream – she purchased the property in July 2021! She has created an expansive strip mall that includes restaurants, retail stores, beauty salons, barbershops, and more. This incredible achievement is not only great news for Angel and her business ventures, it’s also an exciting opportunity for many aspiring black entrepreneurs who have access to this incredible space.
Supporting black-owned businesses benefits everyone involved – from those who are starting their own business ventures to customers who will have access to unique products or services they wouldn’t otherwise find. It’s also incredibly important to support these businesses because it helps close the racial wealth gap. By supporting these businesses we can help close this gap and create economic opportunities for people who have been historically underrepresented or marginalized in society.
