Social Sports! 2016’s Most Valued Athletes on Social Media

The world of sports has a wide range of participants. Today we get a look at another list of 2016, this time around taking an in-depth look at 2016’s Most Valued Athletes on Social Media. The good folks over at social analytics platform MVPindex joined forces with digital sports network 120 Sports and provide us a look at the most valued athletes on social media. The link was compiled using a ranking system that uses three components: reach, engagement and conversation.

This year Russell Wilson, quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks, came out on top. He was in the news quite a bit, marrying Ciara, playing well with the Seahawks and more earned him the top spot. Other names on the list include Odell Beckham Jr. of the New York Giants, J.J. Watt, and many others along the way.
