Royce Da 5’9” has just released his eighth solo studio album, “The Allegory”. ‘An allegory, as explained on one of the albums many skits, is “a story with a subliminal meaning that has a political message based off the writer’s mind.”
Royce takes on extremely controversial political topics throughout the majority of the album’s runtime. This being said, the project sparks a great conversation about race and perspective in America – regardless of ones political views. He stopped by Sway In The Morning to talk about the album.
Royce handles the vast majority of production, but sees an array of features from the likes of T.I, KXNG Crooked, Eminem, DJ Premier, Emanny, Cedric The Entertainer, Ashley Sorrell, Grafh, Oswin Benjamin, Westside Gunn, Kid Vishis, Conway the Machine, Benny The Butcher, White Gold, CyHi The Prynce, Sy Ari Da Kid, Vince Staples, and G Perico.
Some notable tracks include: “I Don’t Age”, “Tricked”, “Black Savage”, and “Young World”.
