Rob Markman Rates Meek Mill's "Dreams Worth More Than Money" an 8 out of 10

What’s up citizens this ya guy Rob Markman with The Rob Report, where we break down music for the game’s hottest artists. There’s so much new music out right now, but before we go anywhere we’re going to Philly with Meek Mill on his latest Dreams Worth More Than Money.

Meek Mill was all set to release his sophomore album last year before he faced a probation violation and found himself in jail. Upon his release a refocused Meek went back to work. The new LP has a mix of street material and high-powered singles, but this MMG MC will forever be judged by his album intro and “Lord Knows” Meek delivers the passion, aggression and excitement that we’ve come to expect.

There are a ton of high-points on Dreams. “Classic” is driven by haunting piano loops and boisterous drums and “RICO” with Drake is both street and lyrical. All dope, but where Meek could’ve really excelled was with the album’s production. Beats like the ones for “Check” and “Been That” with Ross have plenty of bounce, but don’t give the LP much character.

Dreams Worth More Than Money is a new and improved Meek. It isn’t the perfect album, but a rock solid chapter of Meek’s book, so I’ma give this an 8 out of 10. But that’s just my opinion. I want to know what do you think. Hit me @RobMarkman on Twitter. I talk back.

  1. Definitely an improved meek. Should’ve been 8.5 at the least, probably a 9. Production was well done. Check and Been That is what got Meek hot to begin with, he can’t completely abandon them. The rest of his album had the “character”
