Dreamville released their third compilation album, Revenge of the Dreamers III on July 5, 2019, and it indeed took the music charts by storm. Reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200, it became Dreamville’s first compilation album to do these types of numbers. This album highlighted artists we are all familiar with such as J. Cole, Bas, J.I.D but also shined a light on some artists that it was definitely time to get hip to.
During the promotion of the album, J. Cole dropped a tweet recognizing everyone that was a part of the project. In that tweet, he also stressed the importance of supporting those artists on the album some would be newly introduced to. Social media support of any artist goes far, a follow, a share is just a few ways you can show your support.
Revenge album dropping 2nite. Know that this album represents community and the unheard unsung artist that fight and bleed daily to be felt. There will be someone you never heard of on this album. Look them up and support them if they resonate with you. A follow goes a long way.— J. Cole (@JColeNC) July 4, 2019
Many would agree with Wayno when he stated on Everyday Struggle that “this is exactly where you want hip-hop to be”. Dreamville set the bar high and we are all excited to see where this will lead.
