This week for our political news segment we had both Mike Muse and the CEO of Hip Hop Caucus Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr. join the Sway in the Morning studios.
Speaking on respect the vote and getting young people to the polls Rev. Yearwood opens up about artists like Vic Mensa and Keke Palmer stepping up to raise awareness. Going into further detail he explains that for many younger people their parents fought for equality, now young adults fight for existence. He also speaks on the state of Virginia’s ruling to let 200,000 ex offenders vote in the upcoming election.
Moving on we hear from Mike Muse who goes into detail about Brexit and what the aftermath of the decision looks like. Explaining it’s mark on trade he parallels it to the U.S. and our relationship with entities like NAFTA. Muse also explains where both presidential candidates stand on free trade.
Ending things talking about economic class he poses the question; do you think this election cycle is ultimately about economic class?
