In a move blending the frontiers of music and digital currency, Ghostface Killah of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan is harnessing the power of the Bitcoin blockchain to release exclusive tracks. This unique initiative will entail a collection of 10,000 pieces, each granting its owner rights to the music, according to a recent announcement on X (formerly known as Twitter).
This strategic collaboration not only marks a significant milestone for Ghostface but also underscores a broader movement towards the intersection of art, music, and blockchain technology. Toby Lewis, head of Strategy at OrdinalsBot, expressed enthusiasm about working with the Wu-Tang Clan’s iconic member, in partnership with the NakaPepes collection, to bring an unprecedented blend of art and music to the Bitcoin blockchain.
Interestingly, Ghostface Killah is no stranger to the Bitcoin scene. In a separate declaration, he reminisced about his early adoption of Bitcoin, contrasting his involvement with counter-culture platforms like the Rare Pepe fam on Counterparty and FakeRares against the mainstream trends leaning towards Opensea. “We Bitcoin OGs. When everyone in the industry was on Opensea, I was rocking with the Rare Pepe fam on Counterparty and FakeRares,” he stated, highlighting his pioneering stance in the realm of digital currencies and music distribution.
This revolutionary move by Ghostface Killah not only solidifies his position as an innovator in the music industry but also offers a glimpse into the potential future of music distribution and ownership. Through leveraging the Bitcoin blockchain, Ghostface is setting the stage for a new era where technology and creativity intersect, paving the way for artists and aficionados alike to redefine the boundaries of music consumption and rights ownership.
If I had to sum up Rolling Loud LA 2024 in one word it would be LOVE. The festival goers, staff and performers were in perfect harmony. The site was full of activities. Everything from a full basketball court and skate park to a barbershop was available for those in attendance. The festival grounds, nestled in between two huge stadiums, made Rolling Loud feel like it’s own secluded environment.

Of course you come to Rolling Loud for the music. And in true Hollywood fashion the performers over delivered. Ye & Ty kicked the festival off with a performance that can only be described as spectacular. You truly had to be there to understand the energy that was permeating through the festival. That performance set the tone for the next few days and you never came down from that high.

One of the big highlights of the weekend was all of the surprise guests that would come out on other performers’ sets. Sexyy Red popped out on Chief Keef’s set. Travis Scott popped out on Don Toliver’s set. And Metro & Future had a bunch of guest spots with appearances by Travis Scott, Quavo, and Don Toliver. But the cherry on top for the festival closers was all the unreleased records they played during their set. Some of which were teased more than a year ago on social media.

We can not talk about Rolling Loud LA 2024 without pointing out all the love the festival showed the emerging LA artists it included on its lineup. This shows how well curated and throughout this festival is. Artists like Zoe Osama & Jayson Cash got to play the biggest rap festival in the world in their own backyard. That will be huge for their careers and as they continue to blow up, it will be another accolade for Rolling Loud.
Stay tuned for updates of upcoming Rolling Loud festivals here and abroad.
