Oh "U Mad"? Vic Mensa & Kanye West really don't care [Listen]

By Maria-Karmina Landicho

Kanye West‘s sound productions are never anything less than massive: massive synths, massive beats — all provided by one massive personality. Kanye.

His latest production for Vic Mensa screams, exactly that. “U Mad” is a dark collaboration by the two, mirroring that of a soundtrack to an epic film. Listen to the track, below:

Before he was knighted the XXL Freshman, and before his creative movement with Yeezus — Vic Mensa went on Sway In The Morning and was put to the test on a quick freestyle. Watch him put some of his original bars down:

From discussions of DONDA, to fashion, to the status of his Red Octobers, West passionately stated himself on Sway In The Morning — beginning with,

“I am the #1 most impactful artist of our generation. I am Shakespeare in the flesh. Walt Disney. Nike. Google… Do you want to marginalize me until I am out my moment?”

Sway’s then questioned and sparked excitement from Kanye as he asked Ye,

Why don’t you empower yourself, and don’t need them, & do it yourself?

Kanye went in, shouting at Sway,

You ain’t got the answers Sway! … You ain’t spent 13 million dollars of your own money trying to empower yourself!

After the quick heated conversation, they both brought their talk back to music. Take it back one time, and watch the full interview below — and enjoy Kanye’s freestyle:
