In case you did not know, next marks an interesting change in the NBA. Nike is taking over the on-court apparel for the upcoming season, and today they return with a first look at their new designs. Nike Reveals The New Names & Tech For Upcoming NBA Jerseys, giving us our first look at what to expect on the hardwood. Nike’s new design features technology that were introduced in last summer’s USA Basketball Team jerseys.
Here we find removed armhole, neck and side seams for a smooth construction while offering up a mix of Alpha Yarns and recycled polyester which result in the removal of moisture 30% faster than before. Nike is also ditching traditional home and road jerseys, instead opting for “Editions” once the 2017-2018 season begins. Home teams will be able to select their edition of choice while visiting squads will opt for a contrasting uniform. This means that there are four primary jersey options for each team. All 30 teams will have an Association Edition dominated by white coloring that pays homage to the NBA. The Icon Edition will reflect each franchise’s identity and heritage using the team’s primary color. THe third will be known as the classic edition which celebrates some of the most memorable jerseys in NBA history. The final edition will rock a community/city inspiration. Have a look at the new design in the images and give us your thoughts. Stay tuned for more from Nike coming soon.
