Hip-Hop has had an infatuation with Nia Long ever since she was cast in John Singleton’s iconic Boyz N The Hood film back in 1991. And likely became more popular alongside Ice Cube and Chris Tucker in the original Friday. Since then she has popped up in so many rap verses that it is hard to keep track. But the one that sticks out in most people’s minds is Horse’s verse on Nas’ Oochie Wally track:
“Like Nia Long in a cherry thong with the lights on, Sipping Perignon with Kelly Price on”
That verse along with Nia will forever live in the hearts and minds of hip-hop heads. And now after years of living with it, Nia is going to capitalize off of it by starting a cherry thong line. A classic move by a smart business woman. She stopped by Swqy In The Morning to talk about that amid promoting her new film with Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie called The Banker.
