Tonight’s preview the new LP Nasir was the culmination of a joint effort from Def Jam and Mass Appeal. The two imprints held a party right under the 59th Street bridge in Queens, to which we affectionately know as Queensbridge. As you may already know the album was produced by Kanye West who was in attendance with Nas. But some of the other notable names in the crowd were Kim Kardashian who showed up with Lala Anthony. The G.O.O.D. Music family Pusha T and 2 Chainz came through. New York Hip-Hop royalty Fabolous, Swizz Beatz, and Consequence were all in attendance as well. Chris Rock who has been making his rounds to everything hip-hop showed up with the likes of Marley Marl, Steve Rifkind, Lyor Cohen and Paul Rosenberg. And most importantly fellow Queens natives AZ and Havoc of Mobb Deep came through to show support.
The record that seemed to be the big highlight was a record called “Cops” that samples Slick Rick’s voice and the beat from “A Children’s Story.” Kanye chopped the sample up and it plays throughout the song.

Early indications are that “Cops” is the song to look out for. Nasir is available everywhere now!
