One of the most talked about actors in our generation stopped by Sway in the Morning to talk about his new role in Creed, Michael B. Jordan.
A spin off the famous Rocky movies. Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, boxing champion Apollo Creed, who died before Adonis was born. However, boxing is in his blood, so he seeks out Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and asks the retired champ to be his trainer. Rocky sees much of Apollo in Adonis, and agrees to mentor him, even as he battles an opponent deadlier than any in the ring. With Rocky’s help, Adonis soon gets a title shot, but whether he has the true heart of a fighter remains to be seen.
Our movie expert junkie, DB, sat down with Michael and found out Creed had been a conversation even before shooting the heart-touching, Fruitvale Station — both directed by Ryan Coogler.
While in-studio, he also dispels some rumors about an altercation on set with a fan, plus why it was so important to include some of today’s real-life Philly culture in the film.
Watch below for more. Creed hits theaters, Wednesday, November 25th. Get more movie-junkie fixes by following @TheRealDB on Twitter
