Modern art has a captivating quality. Today MCA Chicago is back with some big news as they are set to debut a Takashi Murakami exhibit and in the process showcase photographer Larry Clark in a new exhibit. The event is titled ‘Takashi Murakami: The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg’ and will feature a total of 50 works from the artist and will also show how “Murakami’s art is rooted in traditions of Japanese painting and folklore.”

Along the way it aims to highlight “contemporary influences of globalization, media culture, and the continued threats of nuclear power.” On the other side of things Larry Clarks photos will be presented in an exhibit titled Eternal Youth. This will also include artwork from Rineke Dijkstra, Leon Golub, Mona Hatoum, Jack Pierson, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Francesca Woodman.
