Mark Ronson Shares Special Moment with Amy Winehouse Creating "Back to Black" in 'Amy' Documentary

Sadly joining the list of other great artists to have their promising careers cut short, Amy Winehouse was one of the most powerful voices to come out. The upcoming documentary ‘Amy‘ gives fans a never before seen look at her music life through home videos and exclusive content. The two hour film broke records in the UK for a documentary and looks to have similar success here in the US hitting theaters July 3rd.

Not everyone is a fan of the film however including her parents but at the same time it should be respected for sharing their daughter’s incredible gift with the world. Even Mark Ronson talked about the level of genius that Amy had, telling Rolling Stone “You are reminded why she was famous in the first place – she was a genius, that’s the stuff even I can forget. “I forget that when I played her the piano chords to ‘Back To Black,’ she wrote the lyrics in an hour. I was blown away, people just don’t write custom papers lyrics like that any more.”

You can get a glimpse of that special moment between Mark Ronson and the talented Amy Winehouse as they create “Back to Black” below. Be sure to check out the documentary ‘Amy‘ in theaters now.
