As if you guys didn’t know yet, Mark Ronson came out with his fourth album titled, “Uptown Special” a few weeks ago. If you didn’t know, well now you do.
This producer-songwriter and musician, featured a wide range of collaborators, including — most famously, Bruno Mars — in the realm of the current retro-’70s funk-soul sounds. Mystikal (whom has typically been out of the scene for quiet sometime) re-emerged with Ronson to perform “Feel Right” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Well intertwined vocals to fuzz-toned guitars and rocked-up R&B melodies. It’s real life. Ronson successfully re-creates the great stoner-soul of Shuggie Otis. In the live performance of “Feel Right“, Ronson and Mystikal were backed by The Roots and may I say — Mystikal murdered the stage (no pun intended) with an unorthodox funk sound, provided by Ronson. Mystikal actually came through during SXSW to throw down bars while seated next to Schoolboy Q who was still fresh in the game, at the time. Take it back one time to this classic clip on Sway In The Morning:
