Today we would like introduce our special guest who is a multi-talented singer and songwriter and actress, Margot Bingham. Bingham caps off her interview with Sway and the team early this morning by talking about her come up in the entertainment industry. As many powerful roles as she has played throughout her career, Margot is still seen to some as a singer. However, when it comes to her career in singing, Margot still feels like she hasn’t found her voice yet. “Maybe a producer will come along one day and say ‘I know what you should sound like,'” said the hopeful Margot.
As the interview continues, Margot talks about how she can identify with the character, Nola Darling. Nola Darling is a character from the film, She’s Gotta Have It, who walks through life knowing she has power. In the film, she dangles men around and is the head of all the relationships she invokes in. Margot believes that sexual identity can definitely represent feminism. “There is no definition on how to be a feminist,” said Margot.
Towards the end of the interview, Margot talks about sexual encounters in the entertainment industry and how women have to be able to stand up for themselves. Watch above how Margot Bingham talks more about sexual encounters and how women have to speak up to themselves and don’t think they are problematic.
