King Tech Gets Grammy Nomination for Collab Jazz Album with Smith & Hay

The #1 Billboard Contemporary Jazz Album, and #2 Billboard Jazz Albums are based on ‘Follow the Leader’, Eric B. & Rakim’s classic album re-imagined. Follow the Leader has now been formally submitted for nomination in consideration for the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. Sway’s partner in crime, King Tech has linked up with Smith & Hay, for the album, Jazz Part Two which has been officially submitted for a Grammy nomination. 

Some of the songs from Follow the Leader and Jazz Part Two are being remixed for the upcoming September release, Liquor, Jazz & DJ Whoo Kid. The album has guest appearances from Juicy J, Yung Bleu, Termanology, Sadat X of the legendary Brand Nubian, Ranna Royce, Louie Gonz, Bubba Sparxxx, Denny Strickland and Nelly’s new artist T-Rell. 

The song Follow the Leader was released on July 26th, 1988, this track put Rakim on the radar for greatest emcees of all time. The recreation of the album was dropped on July 26th 2019 the same day the original iconic project was. Thanks to Hay we have a recreated version of the album 21 years later that is nominated for the Grammy’s.
