Jussie Smollet Talks Empire, Remaining True To Himself + Brings Comedy on Sway In The Morning

Empire actor Jussie Smollett stopped by Sway In The Morning to talk about the upcoming season. The star explains that he’s still not over his fame yet, he doesn’t want to get too adjusted and then lose everything.”It’s not my first time at the rodeo, this is just the biggest rodeo I’ve ever been to,” he continued.

When asked about his music career, Smollett explained that his current role with Empire is just that; a role. He reminds himself that this is his career, but he also has alternative goals. This season, the 34-year-old is venturing into the director’s chair for episode 14. He also plans to release an album next year.

“We do what we have to do in order to get where we have to go,” he explained.

Season 4 of Empire premieres tonight at, a new time, 8pm on FOX5. Before heading out, he updated the citizens that he and his family are releasing “the blackest cookbook ever” next Mother’s Day. Check out the full interview below.
