Today we had John Lennon’s eldest son, Julian Lennon join us on Sway in the Morning to talk about his new children’s book, “Touch the Earth.” In addition to being a Grammy-nominated artist and photographer, Lennon has dedicated much of his life to philanthropy. With his latest work, Lennon adds the title of author to his list of accomplishments. His novel is geared toward 3 to 6-year-olds – or the “why? age” as dubbed by Lennon. It’s goal, he explains, is to inspire children to ask questions about protecting the planet’s natural resources and learning right from wrong.
Lennon gave us the backstory behind his organization The White Feather Foundation, which raises money for environmental and humanitarian causes. We also asked Lennon his perspective on global warming. “You can visibly see the problems that we have, you know, these are not made up issues and it’s hard to change people’s minds who are blind to that.”
