Joey Bada$$ Speaks on Kehlani, Thoughts on Suicide + Weighs in on Troy Ave

Video by YSKSK Media

Brooklyn’s Own Joey Badass stopped by Sway in the Morning and dropped one of the hottest 5 Fingers of Death freestyles in a minute addressing the Troy Ave situation. But, that wasn’t all the heat he brought through as he sat down with Sway to run through the entire Pro Era team’s schedule and give us a little taste of what we can be expecting from the team this year.

He also gave up a little game on his acting journey, who knew that was his first love? Joey actually spent his high school years improving that area before he took over the music scene. It definitely paid dividends as he was cast to appear in Season 2 of Mr. Robot (which beat out Game of Thrones for a Golden Globe) niiiiiice! *fabolous voice*

It’s always refreshing to see a dope lyricist get out there beyond just the music but also come well equipped with the bars. It’s that approach of connecting with fans in multiple ways that’s given him the ability to have a consistent, well paced rise in his career that seems to be on a healthy trajectory. How does he do it?  Simply put – “I try to be my role model. I try to be a cat that I could follow, if I wasn’t myself.” Hip Hop Quotables without a doubt.

Check out the full interview below and follow up with a few listens as he spazzed over our 5 Fingers of Death.
