Jimmy Iovine Confirms Plans For Apple Music Produce Original Content

Apple’s Music chief Jimmy Iovine is back in the news today, and he returns with some big news for the future. Today the word comes down that Jimmy Iovine has confirmed plans for Apple Music to delve into the world of original content. Iovine recently sat down with The Hollywood Reporter and stated that Apple Music is looking to “create an entire cultural, pop cultural experience.”

He added that “If South Park walks into my office, I am not going to say you’re not musicians, you know?” said Iovine. “We’re going to do whatever hits popular culture smack on the nose. We’re going to try.” The beginning of the year brought news of Dr. Dre starring in and producing his own original series called Vital Signs. Then came news of a potential technology show called Planet of the Apps and that James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” segment had been picked up with the hopes of flipping it into its own program. Exciting news, though Spotify launched a video service of its own with content from the likes of VICE Media, Comedy Central, MTV, Vogue, and TED. Speak your thoughts on the news from Apple Music and stay tuned for much more on this coming very soon!
