Jay Z Reported To Launch His Own Venture Capital Fund

Always looking to expand his business side, Jay Z is back in the news today and is looking to take on a brand new venture. Today the word on the e-streets is that Jay Z is nearly set to launch his own venture capital firm with Roc Nation president and close business associate Jay Brown. The good folks over at Axios reported Jay Z’s plans, which would be a partnership with entrepreneurs Shervin Pishevar and Scott Stanford’s San Francisco-based Sherpa Capital.

Word is that the group needs another partner. Axios reports that the new firm will focus efforts on seed-stage companies while no other details have been made available. Not the first time Jay has ventured into the world of startups as he has invested in the past in JetSmarter, Away, BlackJet, Devialet, and Julep.
