Fresh off receiving nine Grammy Award nominations for his latest Magna Carta … Holy Grail, Jay Z stepped onto the Staples Center stage for the LA stop on his Magna Carter World Tour with much to celebrate.
As Jay Z took to the mic, proceeded off the last step and uttered the tracks trademark ad libs “Turn my music high, high, high, high-er!” with every word of the classic sample flooding the air across the stadium. The show began, and Hov was in his zone. After finishing the first song, he took a brief break to shout out his friend and longtime collaborator, Timbaland, who also served as executive producer on Magna Carta. Timbo The King kept his place in the band throughout the evening, commanding the keys and taking over the spotlight between Jay’s sets. Their camaraderie was purely evident, giving fuel to the fun-hearted antics and unrestricted freestyle sessions that took place as the show progressed.
