Ice Cube took to Instagram earlier today with his concerns with the Democratic National Party. He spoke about how everyone seemed excited, everyone wants Trump out “But then what?” he asked. He spoke about how he did not hear anything that will impact the lives of the black voters. “What’s in it for us, what’s in in for the black community?” Cube asked in his Instagram video.
Ice Cube talked about a comprehensive contract with the black community. He believes it’s one of the most comprehensive reform documents to come along in a long time that could really address the problem of the black people in America. Derrick Hamilton in the preface of the contract says “This contract with the Black Americans strikes at the heart of racism and presents a blueprint to achieve racial economic justice.” Ambassador Andrew Young also supports the contract by saying “The Pandemic has reveled to us the importance of the essential worker of which many are minorities.”
Ice Cube wants to know what are the Black Americans going to receive in the first hundred days. He mentioned how America has pushed out 3 trillion dollars to bail out major corporations but 42% of black businesses has closed. Cube said “So we have to start something right now, Democrats don’t seem like they got a plan, Republicans don’t seem like they got a plan for us, so how the hell you going to vote for them?” He asked “Make them earn that vote, make them start today.” He concluded before ending his message.
“To create the “more perfect union” that all Americans deserve, all must have access to opportunity. Police reform alone cannot make us equal when Black Americans endure persistent inequality in access to capital, jobs and education. We need the opportunity that comes from banking and finance reforms to help close the gap where a typical white family’s net worth is nearly ten times than that of a black family.”
