Ice Cube is still seeming to be receiving backlash after the announcement that he would be working with Republicans on his “Contract With Black America” initiative. Some people believe because Ice Cube is working with Donald Trump that he is endorsing the 45th president. Ice Cube had an interview with Chris Cuomo where he completely denied such a thing. Cube explained why he kept the CWBA talks bipartisan.
Cube spoke and said he reached out to both parties and the Biden and they said they were willing to work following the election. Ice Cube said the Trump campaign offered to work immediately. In his interview with Cuomo Cube said, “I’m going to whoever’s in power and I’ma speak to them about our problems specifically,” he expressed “I’m not going in there talking about minorities, I’m not going in there talking about people of color or diversity or none of that stuff. I’m going there for Black Americans. The ones who are the descendants of slaves.”
Today Cube took to Twitter to breaks things down more clearer. He also wanted to make sure the people that were questioning his qualifications and education understood his point of view. “I hope all these people with podcast and radio shows telling the world I’m too unqualified and uneducated to talk about a document I created, don’t get asked to pull out their Communications degrees and show you they are qualified and educated enough to speak to you over airwaves,” he wrote in one post.
In another tweet he wrote, “Guess I wasn’t qualified when I helped #ADOS get Gov. Gavin Newsom to sign AB3121 Into law.”
A Twitter user who wrote “Cube, I don’t know if you have, but you really need to consult with Dr. Claude Anderson so that he can advise you on how to best deal with these Black gatekeepers. He has studied our situation for years and is the one to go to on this issue.”
And Cube responding “I have been consulting with Dr. Anderson since I been working on the CWBA. I have a nice relationship him. He’s been advising.”
Cube continues to fight and push his CWBA but is not endorsing Donald Trump. Cube is willing to work with the people in power to stop the systematic racism. Check out his interview with Cuomo below.
