Hip-Hop legend Bushwick Bill Of The Geto Boys died Sunday evening, after losing a battle to cancer. Earlier this year, he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He was 52.
“Bushwick Bill passed away peacefully this evening at 9:35 P.M. He was surrounded by his immediate family,” the rapper’s publicist, Dawn P., told Rolling Stone on Sunday night.
Bushwick Bill was born Richard Stephen Shaw stood only 3’9”, but he was a giant in Hip-Hop history as a rapper, B-boy and graffiti artist. Bill was fearless, and not afraid of death as he told several times in the story about him having died for 45-minutes before. It is because of that fearlessness that Bill was living life up until the end as he recently hit the Sway In The Morning SXSW stage a month after being diagnosed.
Rest In Peace Bushwick Bill.
