After years of rumors and whispers of Ghostbusters 3 it looks as if the cult classic film will finally hit the silver screen again, just not in the manner most were expecting, as it was announced that Bridesmaids director Paul Feig will reboot the franchise with an a female cast that includes; Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and SNL comedians Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.
Though negotiations are reportedly still underway, the actresses will be stepping into shoes first made famous by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Harold Ramis (who passed away in February 2014.) Filming is tentatively scheduled to begin this summer.
If nothing else it will be interesting to see how the remake stacks up to the original. For those feeling nostalgic there’s always Netflix.
