Emerging singer-songwriter Abir Haronni is making a name for herself as she continues to put out distinctive music. The Morocco-born, NY-based artist labels her musical style as “soulful funk.” As a child she was inspired by the captivating voices of Sarah Vaughan, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston.
The 22-year-old made her mark a couple years ago on Fabulous’ The Young OG Project with her feature on “Young OG II.” A year later she enlisted rapper-singer-saxophonist Masego with the electro-dance track “Waves,” which earned considerable radio play.
On her latest single, “Playground” Abir aims to encourage people to enjoy the moment. Her second single “Girls” made a significant impression as it received support from Zane Lowe and Beats By Dre.
