Genius Taps Brooklyn Emcee Skyzoo to Expand Jay Z’s Friend or Foe Storyline with “Friend Or Foe Pt.3”

Some 20 years ago Jay Z started an intense storyline of life on the streets moving weight on “Reasonable Doubt.” Going up against his competition he threatens a man in his way of making money on “Friend Or Foe.” Continuing and ultimately ending his foe on his second LP, “In My Lifetime Vol.2,” Jay shouldn’t have to deal with anyone else taking his cake, right?

With the 20th anniversary of “Reasonable Doubt” digging up story after story about Jay Z and the Roc-A-Fella team, Genius approached Brooklyn emcee Skyzoo to reinvent Jay’s classic competition in the “Friend or Foe” series with some bars of his own. The result is “Friend Or Foe pt.3,” before doing what he does best Skyzoo repeats a simple line three times, “I been waiting 20 years,” he says like he’s been plotting his moment his whole life.
