The Atlanta native wordsmith and more, Future has been riding high over the past few weeks. Today Future is back in the news, returning with another number one album. While Future dropped off two brand new projects, today the word comes down that his latest album, ‘HNDRXX’, sits on top of the charts. This marks back to back weeks at number one for Future, the first artist to ever to do so, and it is also his fifth number one album in a row. The project shot to the top of the charts almost immediately and pushed his previous album, FUTURE, to the number two position.
Billboard spoke about the news, stating: “Future is the first act in the nearly 61-year history of the chart to achieve back-to-back No. 1 debuts in successive weeks. The rapper is also the first artist to succeed himself at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 at all (counting not only debuts) since 1968. He’s additionally the first soloist ever to claim the honor.” HNDRXX has moved 117,332 units which include both sales and streams, with his singles “Mask Off” and “Coming Out Strong” sit at number 5 and 7.
