As you probably know by now, Ice Cube is bringing a new element to the world of basketball with his 3-on-3 basketball league BIG3. Today the word comes down that the BIG3 has paired up with Fox Sports, who will broadcast the inaugural season. The news was announced by founder Ice Cube and Commissioner Roger Mason Jr. on Skip and Shannon: Undisputed. The league is slated to make its debut on June 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn with games being played half-court. The first game is set to air on June 26 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
For the inaugural season the league includes eight teams and will travel to 10 different cities throughout the season. So far the league will find player captains like Allen Iverson, Kenyon Martin, Chauncey Billups, Jason “White Chocolate” Williams, Rashard Lewis, Jermaine O’Neal, Stephen Jackson, Corey Maggette and Mike Bibby while Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Clyde Drexler, Charles Oakley, George Gervin and Gary Payton will coach.
