First Openly Gay MTV/BET Hip-Hop Executive, Buttahman on Coming Out & Why He Waited So Long

First Hip-Hop executive to come out of the closet, Buttahman, swung by Sway in the Morning yesterday. If you didn’t know, Buttah helped create MTV Jams and Hood Fab at MTV, as well as 106 & Park on BET.

He opened up about how he announced he was gay — after Obama said it was cool, and how he had to pretend he was straight for so long. He even shares stories of being in the strip club with Sway and how he used to talk to strippers about their lives, instead of recieving lap-dances.

See below for the funny interview and catch Buttahman’s show tonight at The Stand NYC @ 6pm. Follow @AllThingsButtah
