Favorite Coachella Moments from Weekend 1: Run The Jewels, Tyler the Creator and Drake

Coachella, one of the most exciting and highly anticipated music festivals has gathered thousands for another year of hosting an amazing list of greats, fresh faces and mind blowing surprises. Always an incredible energy in the air as artists from various genres are able to add a milestone to their legacy that all would love to share: Perform in front of Coachella‘s crowd and even beyond that for the lucky few, Headline at Coachella. The 2015 weekend kicked off properly and not without a few moments that may live on for a very long time – check out a few of our favorites below:

Run The Jewels Appearance.

The name shouldn’t surprise you as Run The Jewels is well known for rocking festivals all over the globe but they are just as known for their constant voice of equality and justice. From showing support to Ferguson with an incredible speech to dropping Run the Jewels 2 to rocking Coachella stage with Travis Barker, they have  left a great imprint on the culture in just six months. It was only fitting they were invited to properly tear down the Coachella stage.

Tyler, the Creator. Dropped an album, released song “Smuckers” with Kanye West and Wayne then proceeded to rip the stage at Coachella. Impressive. Afterwards, he added his own commentary via Twitter in a way only Tyler can: comedy and controversy. If you haven’t heard the latest from the ODD Future artist, check it out right here.

Drake and Madonna. We have heard about it since the unexpected slightly awkward kiss between the two superstars happened. You know like we do, the internet works FAST – the memes, twitter jokes, slander and everything in between took over. Pure comedy and a few tears. While it was all fun and games afterwards, the fact Drake brought out Madonna while she wore a “Big as Madonna shirt” following his live version of…yep, you guessed it: “Madonna” off If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. The overall set was entertaining as he ran through some of his biggest hits, including the ever popular “Know Yourself” and opening/closing with “Legend”. OVO Fest next move.
