Fat Joe and Dre have just released their newest collaborative project, Family Ties. Across promotional and press runs prior to the big release last night, Fat Joe has been addressing this as his last album before retirement. If this is in fact the case, he definitely does not go out lightly.
As one of the most consistently influential names in hip-hop over the past three decades, Fat Joe utilizes his resources and connections within the game to establish and boast an extremely impressive superstar filled tracklist. With features from Eminem, Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige, Cardi B, Remy Ma, Jeremih, Anuel AA, Bryson Tiller, Ty Dolla $ign, and Big Bank DTE, Fat Joe finishes out the year for us here in the hip-hop community with what very well could be considered the most stacked tracklist of 2019.
Clocking in at just over forty minutes, every track on the album is consistently solid – there’s really not one that stands out as a “worst” or weak entry. Notable tracks include Heaven & Hell, Lord Above, and Pullin’.
Fat Joe and Dre stopped by Sway In The Morning on December 4 to discuss the new album. You can check out the full half hour interview below.
