Joshua Karpeh—better known as Cautious Clay—returns with “Father Time (10am),” the latest single and visual from his highly anticipated album The Hours: Morning, arriving May 16 via Concord Records. This new track marks the third release from the upcoming project, following the ethereal “Tokyo Lift (5am)” and the introspective “No Champagne (6am).”

With “Father Time (10am),” Cautious dives deep into themes of self-awareness and the power of presence. Through his signature blend of soulful melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, he challenges the pressure of traditional life milestones and age-based expectations. Instead, he offers an empowering message: reclaim your narrative, live intentionally, and honor your own rhythm.

Cautious Clay isn’t just making waves with his own music—he’s become a go-to collaborator for some of today’s biggest names. From Billie Eilish and John Mayer to Khalid, Melanie Martinez, Remi Wolf, Tycho, and more, his fingerprints can be found across a diverse range of sounds and genres. His impressive credits as a songwriter and producer speak to his versatility and creative depth.

After making a mark with his standout EPs Resonance and Table of Context, Cautious released his debut album Deadpan Love in 2021. The project offered a layered look into the nuances of emotional connection and was met with acclaim from outlets like The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Fader, and PAPER.

In 2023, he took things further with KARPEH, a deeply personal and sonically evolved body of work. With richer production and more vulnerable storytelling, the album gave listeners a closer look at his roots, personal growth, and family experiences. The project marked a defining chapter in his artistry, firmly establishing Cautious Clay as a compelling and singular force in contemporary music. Cautious is totally in his own lane and doing things his way! Stay tuned- and be on the look out for his album The Hours: Morning dropping on May 16th.
